Jikoni Scoop
'Jikoni' in Kiswahili means 'kitchen'.
This unique little scoop makes for a wonderful kitchen utensil. It's an ideal size for using with tea leaves, ground coffee, dried herbs and seeds. With the intricately carved grooves on the handle, it's a design piece to treasure for years to come.
It has been made by Filbert (our artisan in Tanzania) and is a wonderful gift for a foodie. Some of the scoops feature a unique two-toned natural grain, showcasing the raw natural beauty of African Blackwood.
We work directly with our group of Makonde wood carvers who are renowned for their craftsmanship, a skill passed down for generations from father to son.
Your purchase supports job creation and helps to keep the tradition of wood carving in the Makonde tribe alive.
